City Taskforce

Cities play a crucial role in achieving global sustainability targets set out in the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The City Taskforce collaborates with a wide range of stakeholders in cities both in Japan and across Asia to engage in research and initiatives based on an empirical approach to policies aimed at accelerating urban decarbonisation, strengthening resilience, and advancing the transition to a sustainable society at the city level, as well as supporting practical actions through policy recommendations.  The Taskforce also collaborates with regional and international networks and organisations to share lessons learned and on-the-ground insights. These efforts help build implementation capacity and promote the global exchange of knowledge among cities, tackling complex sustainability challenges.
